Here's what our LAFS Instructors bring to the table

Charlie

Charlie Schenck
Board Member, Instructor

Charlie, that loud guy in the floppy hat, just happened to stumble into the room where the board meeting was taking place this year. Before anyone knew what had happened he had voted on 3 major issues and 2 minor ones. Instead of going back and re-voting it was easier to just make him a member. Charlie was a founding member of the Denton fire department clowns on fire (Denton Texas) in 1996. Their programs reach upward of 12,500 adults and children a year. He is a driver/paramedic, a Texas fire instructor and a firm believer that ventriloquism is a dark art!

Michelle Stacey
Board Member, Instructor

Although I have been involved in public services since 1985 – first with Alhambra, CA police and fire, then Englewood, CO police and fire, and finally with Littleton CO fire department, it is only in the last 10 years that I have had the opportunity to teach outside the Communications Center boundaries. I teach 911 use and safety classes in the elementary schools at the kindergarten and 2nd grade levels, and occasionally I get the chance to talk to our senior citizen population. I also feel privileged to be a part of the Littleton Fire Rescue Characterization and Puppet team for several years as a puppeteer. Our team performs at various events including our annual Western Welcome Week celebration, Bullhead, and at elementary school assemblies whenever we are invited. For the past 3 years I have been a puppet troupe leader at the Bullhead conference, and last year I co-taught a class in puppet alterations. I am firmly committed to sharing safety information to children of all ages in an effort to give children the confidence to be able to survive emergency situations.
